President Joe Biden greeted Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman with a fist bump on Friday, although both of them seemed awkward about doing it.
The fist bump came as Biden’s aides tried to communicate that Biden would not be able to shake anyone’s hand on the trip because of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
Biden did shake hands with former Israeli Prime Ministers Naftali Bennett and Benjamin Netanyahu, however.
Maybe he didn’t want to shake MBS’s hand because it just looked bad for him to be there after denouncing the Saudis’ human rights’ abuses.
An NBC reporter asked the prince if he would apologize to the family of Jamal Khashoggi, a journalist who was murdered there, but he was not acknowledged or answered.
