MSNBC anchor Chuck Todd suggested that Democrats should get ready for a “shellacking” in the November midterms, based on current poll numbers.
Todd called his predictions a “midterm meter” tool that the network had used before to show “how the political winds are blowing.”
The “midterm meter” was not encouraging to Democrats for the midterm elections.
He pointed to the 71% wrong track number in a recent poll as evidence for why Democrats are in “shellacking territory.”
He also said that President Joe Biden being below 45% approval indicates a big loss in the midterms. He pointed to George W. Bush’s 39% rating during his second midterm, which led to big losses for Republicans.
