Former Vice President Joe Biden just got terrible news. At least one high-ranking official in Biden’s church won’t support the Democratic nominee for president. This is a stunning development that could impact the election.
Bishop Rick Stika of the Roman Catholic Diocese in Knoxville openly questioned Biden’s faith on social media. “Don’t understand how Mr. Biden can claim to be a good and faithful Catholic as he denies so much of Church teaching,” he said.
Specifically, Stika brought up how Biden has turned a blind eye to “the absolute child abuse and human rights violations of the most innocent, the not yet born.” He also noted that President Donald Trump “is anti-abortion as well as helpful in religious liberty.”
Could this be a sign that many other faithful Catholics will support Trump? According to a poll released in June, Trump held “a 12-point advantage over Biden among white Catholics.” One has to wonder if this margin has only grown in recent weeks.
Trump has spent the last four years doing whatever he can to defend not just unborn lives, but all lives — by standing up for law and order, growing the economy, and expanding opportunity for all Americans. His record cannot be matched.
Democrats are well-aware that Trump will be tough to beat. It is why they have concocted one phony scandal after another, even going so far as to accuse the president of not taking COVID-19 seriously. This couldn’t be more false and voters of all faiths will be heard.
