President Joe Biden is absolutely furious at him. A high-ranking Democrat has admitted the truth, and the White House can’t believe it.
“I think that’s a legitimate point. I’ll say that anywhere. That’s a legitimate point,” said Rep. Emanuel Cleaver (D-MO) responding to Fox News’ Neil Cavuto who said Biden’s infrastructure bill includes items that have “nothing to do with infrastructure.”
Cavuto noted that the bill “seems to be heavy on the tax part, very heavy on spending as well,” forcing Cleaver to concede the point. But Cleaver then still tried to defend Biden, politically.
“Here’s the challenge for us on that though: First of all, I think the president has opened the door,” said Cleaver, who went on to promise that Biden plans on inviting Republicans to the discussion.
This has yet to be seen and Republicans shouldn’t hold their breath. However, Cleaver at least had to concede that the bill — as currently proposed — is chock-full of unrelated taxing and spending.
People will remember that Biden’s COVID-19 bill went this way, too. It included billions upon billions of dollars in spending completely unrelated to fighting the coronavirus. It was largely a handout to special interests.
