President Biden thought Memorial Day, the day we mourn and remember fallen war heroes, would be a good time to discuss the Second Amendment and gun control.
Biden used the national patriotic holiday so speak his mind about the constitution and how it’s “not absolute.”
“The Constitution, the Second Amendment was never absolute,” Biden said.
Biden spoke about gun control as he returned to Washington, DC, from Delaware, surrounded by…wait for it…armed secret service guards.
“You couldn’t buy a cannon when the Second Amendment was passed and you couldn’t go out and purchase a lot of weapons,” Biden said.
“The 22 caliber bullet will lodge in the lungs and we can get it out,” Biden said. “A 9 mm bullet blows the lung out of the body.”
Thanks, Biden, for that reminder as we mourn fallen soldiers.
“The idea of a high caliber weapon, there is no rationale for it in terms of self-protection, hunting,” he added.
“I’m going to continue to push and we’ll see how this works,” he concluded.
