White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki doubled down Monday on messaging that warned Americans in Ukraine to leave the country ahead of expected Russian aggression there.
“We are conveying to American citizens that they should leave now,” Psaki said.
A source close to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky claimed to Buzzfeed that Americans were safer in Ukraine than they were in Democrat-run large cities in America, such as Chicago or Los Angeles.
The U.S. and NATO are preparing for a Russian invasion of Ukraine in the near future, and have sent missiles and tanks to the area.
Russia wants to either take over or circumvent Ukrainian energy resources, allying with Germany to operate the Norstream II pipeline to bypass Ukrainian gas lines.
