President Joe Biden has been caught lying to Americans as his claims made during his televised national address have been debunked.
Biden claimed during his speech that more Americans have died from the coronavirus “than in World War I, World War II, the Vietnam war and 9/11 combined.”
Biden’s claimed in his address, delivered on the one-year anniversary of the lockdowns, that “I’ve told you before, I carry a card in my pocket with the number of Americans who have died from COVID to date. It’s on the back of my schedule. As of now, total deaths in America, 527,726. That’s more deaths than in World War I, World War II, the Vietnam war, and 9/11 combined. They were husbands, wives, sons, and daughters, grandparents, friends, neighbors, young and old.”
Data from the Congressional Research Service quickly made it clear that Biden’s numbers were a bit fuzzy.
The death toll from the conflicts that Biden mentioned came out to 583,112, higher than the coronavirus death toll of 527,726. While Biden’s sentiment is understandable, it is clear he worded his statement in such a manner to create an impact, details be damned.
Biden’s fudging of the numbers exemplifies how Democrats have handled the pandemic perfectly. To Democrats, this crisis was a big game that they used to their advantage to score political points. Americans should not be giving Biden and the Democrat party passes for lying.
