In an interview with the Atlantic at the White House, President Joe Biden falsely claimed that former President Donald Trump had campaigned on the idea that Black people were going to take jobs away from whites.
“The people who built the country are the people who are all being left behind,” Biden said. “When that happens, and you don’t have a counter-voice to ‘The reason you lost your job is because of an immigrant; the reason you lost that job is because those Black folks are taking your job’ — it opens up the door to the Charlottesvilles of the world.”
Trump frequently said that he wanted to rebuild the working class, including all races, and he bragged about the accomplishment of having the lowest Black unemployment in history before COVID.
Biden claimed that Trump campaigned on “prejudice and division” and that his campaign agenda “didn’t have any social redeeming value, as far as I can see.”
Is Biden just trying to detract from his own race-baiting, like his claim that Hispanics would take over the majority of the population by 2040 and his bragging about working with segregationists in Congress? C’mon, man!
