President Joe Biden admitted Friday that he often forgets to wear his mask during public events even though he considers it a patriotic duty to do so.
“When I’m outside — and the problem is — a lot of times, I walk away from this podium and noticed I forget to put my mask back on because I’m used to not wearing it outside,” Biden said in response to a question about why he continues to wear a mask outside.
The CDC has said vaccinated people don’t need to wear a mask outside, but he routinely wears it as he approaches the podium to speak, then forgets to get it after he finishes speaking.
“One congressman pointed out I could, he used a very colorful term to say, wearing a mask, I tell him to ‘Kiss my ear.’ I’m not going to wear a mask,” Biden said in January. “Well, guess what, not very American. The fact is, you want to be patriotic. You want to protect people.”
Although Biden is trying to be a role model by wearing a mask even when he doesn’t have to, he actually comes across as overly cautious and not in touch with reality.
