“The Five” co-host Jesse Watters dropped a shocking bombshell on live TV. As Watters put it: Democrats have suffered a massive “tactical loss.”
Moments after the Senate voted 51-49 to defeat a resolution calling for new witnesses in the trial, Watters said, “Democrats just suffered an enormous tactical loss right then on the floor of the Senate. We know how it ends now, this is a strategic retreat by the Democrats.”
The vote was pivotal and will have implications for upcoming elections. Notably, Senator Mitt Romney (R-UT) could face a challenger in his next election for voting with Democrats.
With new witnesses rejected, the trial is all but over. The Senate is expected to vote on Wednesday to acquit President Trump.
Watters went on to praise Senate majority leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) for his leadership in impeachment. McConnell stood strong from the beginning.
Impeachment may very well have handed President Trump his second term. Watters posed the question, “”What are they going to do in a second term? They handled the first loss so terribly, what happens with a landslide?”
