Former FBI Director James Comey just received some terrible news. He only has a few days left before a major “reckoning,” according to a high-ranking Republican official. It is happening soon.
“The day of reckoning is upon us when it comes to Crossfire Hurricane,” said Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) on Fox News. “James Comey has agreed to appear before the Senate Judiciary Committee on September the 30th, without a subpoena.”
Graham, who chairs this powerful committee, said that Comey “will be respectfully treated, but asked hard questions” about Crossfire Hurricane, better known as the Trump-Russia ‘collusion’ probe — which was nothing more than a witch-hunt.
The Obama administration, with Comey leading the FBI, used federal resources to investigate then-presidential candidate Donald Trump in 2016 and even allegedly obtained a FISA warrant to spy on the campaign under false pretenses.
At least one Trump campaign aide — Carter Page, who served as a foreign policy adviser — was the focus of the surveillance, and many are now convinced that the debunked ‘Steele dossier’ was partially used to obtain the FISA warrant.
During his Fox News interview, Graham said he is also negotiating with former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe to appear. He noted, however, that special counsel Robert Mueller “has declined the invitation of the committee to appear to explain his report.”
