Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi has made the decision to reject Donald Trump proposed government shutdown compromise.
President Trump’s plan to end the government shutdown included extended protection for DACA recipients and temporary protected status holders. This deal was offered in exchanged for $5 billion to fund border security.
Pelosi struck back at Trump by saying on Twitter that the president’s proposal is neither “original” or “good.”
The shutdown is dragging on into its fourth week. Pelosi remains determined to reject any kind of solution merely to prove a point. Unfortunately for her, fellow Democrats are finding it harder to reject compromise as pressure to end the shutdown builds.
