Senator Lindsay Graham (R-SC) is saying that the Senate impeachment trial is effectively over, and former President Trump will not be convicted on charges of inciting a riot.
Despite the efforts of the Democrat party and the alleged shortcomings of Trump’s legal team, Graham said, “I think his team will do better, can do better. I reinforced to the president, the case is over. It’s just a matter of getting the final verdict now.”
Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) reinforced Graham saying, “I think the end result of this impeachment trial is crystal clear to everybody … Donald Trump will be acquitted and every person in the senate chamber understands there are not the votes to convict him.”
Graham added that “The ‘Not Guilty’ vote is growing after today. I think most Republicans found the presentation by the House Managers offensive and absurd.”
If the Senate votes to acquit former President Trump, it will represent yet another devastating defeat for the Democrat party, which has given its all to ensure that Trump never runs for office again.
Despite winning a technical majority in the Senate, Democrats don’t have the votes to convict Trump. Democrats will walk away having wasted the first month of Biden’s presidency and suffering a humiliating defeat with nothing to show for their time and energy.
