It is completely over. Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden called it quits with less than 35 days until the November election. No one expected him to make such a dramatic move.
“Biden campaign has called a lid at 9:52am,” reported Fox News’ Pat Ward on Twitter. A “lid” is when a campaign calls it quits for the rest of the day, and the one on Monday was the 1tth straight lid for the month of September.
Last week, Biden jumped off the campaign trail early at least four times. For a candidate who presumably wants to win, his footprint around the country has been light this month — and there is really no explanation for it.
As Joe Concha with The Hill pointed out: “Less than 6 weeks before the election, the Democratic nominee is working at a 50% clip, calling a lid 7 of the past 14 days and 11 of the past 26 this month. Is this a preview of a Biden presidency?”
The answer to his question is simple — it definitely could be. Biden has been the absentee candidate, so why wouldn’t he be an absentee president? By contrast, Trump has remained visible and active throughout his presidency and this campaign.
It is one of the many reasons why Americans are going to re-elected Trump on November 3. Unlike Biden, he is not a career politician who feels entitled to hold office — he has worked for his support every single day. That is a leader.
