Embattled freshman congresswoman Omar’s anti-Semitic positions have been so inflammatory that Democrats from her home state of Minnesota have begun strategizing ways to remove her from office.
Ilhan Omar has found herself the subject of heavy criticism from both parties after repeated and mostly unrepentant anti-semitic statements made in the last few weeks.
According to the Hill, “several party leaders said they have had discussions about finding a candidate to take on Omar, just two months into her first term in Congress.”
Although Omar has attempted to modify her inflammatory opinions, reports say that Jewish leaders are still calling for her removal or resignation.
Ron Latz, a Democrat Senator that represents part of Omar’s district revealed that “there’s definitely talk about people wanting someone to run against her.” Latz went on to admit that he would be “pretty uncomfortable supporting Rep. Omar” after her shocking comments.
Ilhan Omar is just weeks into her position in Congress, but her career is rapidly going down in flames. As it turns out, her constituents aren’t fans of rampant anti-Semitism.
