It has been made official. The Senate just notified Attorney General William Barr, and political fireworks are going off in Washington, DC. This is incredible.
Senators Ron Johnson (R-WI) and Chuck Grassley (R-IA) have written a bombshell letter to Barr asking him to “inform Congress and the public” about connections between Ukraine and Hillary Clinton’s 2016 campaign.
They asked whether the DOJ “has begun an investigation into links and coordination between the Ukrainian government and individuals associated with the campaign of Hillary Clinton or the Democratic National Committee.”
This will compel Barr to answer, and it is imperative that he does. As the two senators noted in their letter, “Such allegations of corruption deserve due scrutiny.” They couldn’t be more right.
Democrats likely won’t like what is discovered, either, but they opened Pandora’s box by announcing an impeachment inquiry into President Trump. Now they have to suffer the consequences.
Johnson and Grassley also pressed Barr for information concerning former Vice President Joe Biden’s alleged strongarming of Ukraine to fire the country’s chief prosecutor to protect his son.
