The much-loved Republican David Perdue of Georgia is likely returning to run for Senate in 2022 after a stunning 2021 run-off loss to Senate challenger, Democrat Jon Ossoff.
The hotly contested race garnered national attention as Republicans attempted to keep the Democrats from gaining control of both branches of Congress. The attention poured unprecedented money and resources into the Democrat races.
Although Perdue lost, it appears he is not out as he “filed to challenge Sen. Raphael Warnock for U.S. Senate in Georgia in 2022, according to the Federal Election Commission.”
According to Breitbart News, “Perdue had edged out Ossoff by 1.8 percent, or about 88,000 votes, in the November 3 general election, but the Georgia Republican was forced into a runoff after just barely missing the 50 percent mark, by 0.3 percent, that was needed to win outright.”
