House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff (D-CA) and his committee released 57 transcripts and other materials on Thursday at the urging of acting DNI head Richard Grenell.
The transcripts were cleared for release in June 2019, but Schiff had never released them even though the House voted in 2018 to do so.
Despite the fact that the transcripts showed clearly that there was no collusion between President Donald Trump and Russia regarding the 2016 election, Schiff continued to insist that there had been collusion.
“The Trump campaign, and Donald Trump himself, invited illicit Russian help, made full use of that help, and then lied and obstructed the investigations in order to cover up this misconduct,” Schiff said.
If there was proof of collusion like Schiff said, I am pretty sure he would have released the transcripts as soon as he possibly could have. The fact that he held back until House Republicans and Grenell twisted his arm tells me everything I need to know about what the transcripts showed–and didn’t.
