A group of judges representing several counties in Texas has declared an invasion there due to the large increase in illegal immigrants coming into their communities and causing problems.
The announcement took place in Bracketteville and was intended to put more pressure on Governor Greg Abbott (R) to follow suit and declare an invasion at the state level, which would carry more power for the state to take action to combat President Joe Biden’s immigration policies.
Among the problems have been high speed chases related to human smuggling, stolen cars, and other criminal activity.
“As a Texan, this is not acceptable,” County Judge Tully Shahan wrote. “We will no longer allow the sovereignty of Texas to be invaded by those unwilling to obey our laws.”
Abbott has not responded to the declaration.
