An impeachment reversal was just announced and the news is spreading nationwide. The White House is completely stunned — they never expected this to happen.
Speaking to the New York Post, House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) said, “This is the fastest, weakest, most political impeachment in history” and “I don’t think it should stay on the books.”
While there’s a question as to whether an actual expungement is possible or if it would be more of a symbolic gesture, the GOP consensus is that something must be done.
Reps. Louie Gohmert (R-TX), Mike Johnson (R-LA), and Jim Jordan (R-OH) all agree that some kind of vote in the House to express that Trump’s impeachment was a sham would be appropriate.
Furthermore, as noted by the Post, Republicans only “need to flip 18 seats” in November to oust Speaker Nancy Pelosi and retake the majority — then begins the process of undoing the Democrats’ damage.
In addition to making a stand against impeachment, Trump set forth an ambitious agenda for his second term during his State of the Union address and he will need a House majority to carry it out.
