A Republican congresswoman from Washington state who voted for President Donald Trump’s impeachment last week has found herself in hot water back home.
Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler was one of the 10 Republicans to back impeachment, but she may now face a GOP-backed primary for her actions.
“On behalf of our entire membership, the [Clark County Republican Women] Executive Board is unified in condemning your actions to betray a sitting Republican President. And this vote will never be forgotten, as your action is a personal affront to the 70 million plus Americans who voted for our President,” Clark County Republican Women wrote in a letter to Beutler.
Other Republican groups reported a lot of anger toward Beutler for her actions as well.
The state GOP is already compiling a list of names of those who might challenge Beutler for her seat in 2022.
