Nevada Rep. Dina Titus (D) didn’t hide how she feels about President Donald Trump in remarks she made Sunday during a Democratic presidential primary forum at the Bellagio in Las Vegas.
“I think the House is going to do it,” Titus said at the event. “Frankly, I’d like to impeach the bastard right now.”
Titus was later asked by reporters why she used the slur in her comments. “I got caught up in the moment,” Titus said, adding that it was “the first term that came to the top of my head.”
Her explanation was interesting given that she had used the same word in remarks at a campaign event for Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) earlier in the day. I guess she got carried away by the moment twice.
Some of Titus’s colleagues hold a different view of impeachment than she does, however. Rep. Jeff Van Drew (D-NJ) said on Fox News that the public is “tired” of the whole thing and that it doesn’t have enough support to go anywhere in the Senate.
