House Republicans filed articles of impeachment for State Department Secretary Antony Blinken Friday after 13 U.S. service members were killed in attacks by ISIS-K in Kabul, Afghanistan amid an evacuation and military pullout.
Rep. Ralph Norman (R-SC) and Rep. Andy Harris (R-MD) brought forth the articles, which they said were due to Blinken’s “failures in leadership over [the] Afghanistan situation.”
Reps. Mary Miller (IL), Mike Johnson (LA), Don Bacon (NE), Chris Stewart (UT), and Jackie Walorski (ID) also demanded that someone in Biden’s administration resign immediately or be fired because of the attacks in Afghanistan and because of the administration giving the Taliban a list of names of Americans and allies that they ostensibly wanted to evacuate.
