If Republicans take the majority in the House after the 2022 midterms, they plan to remove Democrat Representatives such as Eric Swalwell (D-CA) and Ilhan Omar (MN) from their committee assignments.
The move comes after Democrat leadership removed GOP Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (GA) from her committee assignments over provocative and controversial social media posts she had made years earlier before she was elected to office.
Omar has made numerous anti-Semitic comments before and during her time in office, yet Democrats have not held her accountable for any of those comments.
Swalwell allegedly slept with a Chinese spy and allowed her access to his campaign and staff hiring, but Democrats all the way up to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) have also failed to hold him accountable.
Some will see Republican plans to strip them of committee assignments as retaliatory, but they are more than appropriate now that Democrats have decided to open that door.
