Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) just received some bad news from home. It is about her husband and people are shocked. She is doing everything she can to ignore it the controversy — but it isn’t going away.
“A D.C.-based consulting firm co-owned by Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN)’s husband, Tim Mynett, has received more than $500,000 in Chinese coronavirus bailout money,” reported Breitbart News this week.
Furthermore, during the 2019-2020 election cycle alone, Omar’s campaign “paid nearly $2.8 million to the E Street Group […] for a range of services, including cable advertising, digital consulting, video production, and editing.”
This is liberal hypocrisy at its most blatant. Omar has described herself as a “democratic socialist,” attempting to project herself as some kind of oppressed figure, but she is a wealthy politician due to her husband’s business ventures.
Democrats like to talk about “conflict of interest” all the time, yet Omar can pay her husband’s consulting firm millions of dollars to help her campaign and Democrats just look the other way. It is truly something.
Eventually, enough voters in Omar’s deep-blue district — which encompasses Minneapolis — will be tired of her hypocrisy and antics. They may never elect a Republican, but a well-funded moderate Democrat is always a possibility.
