Fox News host Mike Huckabee lauded legendary musician Charlie Daniels in an op-ed Monday after finding out that Daniels had passed away at age 83 over the weekend.
The host knew Daniels well from numerous appearances on his show. Huckabee talked about Daniels’ passion for helping veterans and his musical career that spanned nearly 70 years.
Daniels’ shows were “epic” because of the energy with which he consistently performed, Huckabee said.
He also wrote a book, “Never Look At the Empty Seats” that further explained his commitment to doing his best every single day.
Huckabee also called Daniels a “consummate gentleman” offstage who was “humble, thoughtful and selfless.”
