Actress Lori Loughlin (Full House, Fuller House) was sentenced to serve two months in prison and her husband, fashion designer Mossimo Giannulli, was sentenced to five months for paying half a million dollars in bribes to get their daughters into University of Southern California as rowing team members.
Loughlin took the news calmly; she is reportedly very sorry for her actions in paying the bribe.
Giannulli made a statement saying he took responsibility for his part in the scheme.
“I take full responsibility for my conduct. I am ready to accept the consequences and move forward, with the lessons I’ve learned from this experience,” he said.
The prosecutor argued that jail time was needed because of the egregiousness of the crime.
