Hollywood star Ian Holm, best known for his work in Chariots of Fire and in The Lord of The Rings, has passed away at the age of 88.
Holm died on Friday in the hospital with his family and according to Holm’s agent, he died of circumstances related to Parkinson’s disease.
His agent went on to say that Holm was, “Charming, kind and ferociously talented, we will miss him hugely.”
Holm has had a long career, beginning as an actor in 1968’s in an adaption of A Midsummers Night’s Dream. His most notable role was Bilbo Baggin’s in The Lord of The Rings.
While his passing is a sad moment, it is a good moment for many of us to commemorate his long career. Holm was accomplished as an actor and will be remembered by thousands.
