Democrat Senator Doug Jones (D-AL) is coming out in support of impeachment, and it will likely cost him his career.
In an appearance on Huntsville, AL radio’s WVNN Jones said, “The fact of the matter is there is still evidence that is still out there. There’s still testimony that we should get that I believe is important for the American public to hear.”
This, of course, ignores the conduct of Democrats in the House. Democrats had all the time in the world to do fact-finding and instead decided to play politics.
Now for Jones, his main concern is his vulnerability as a red-state Democrat. Impeachment is growing increasingly unpopular and will impact his reelection chances.
Republican strategists are already targeting red-state Democrats for their role in impeachment.
The time to support impeachment was four months ago. Now Americans are fed up and will likely vote many Democrats out next year.
