Failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton suggested that President Donald Trump could have been talking to Russian President Vladimir Putin on the day of the Capitol riot and said on her podcast You and Me Both that she would like to see his phone records for that day.
I hope historically we will find out who he’s beholden to, who pulls his strings. I would love to see his phone records to see whether he was talking to Putin the day that the insurgents invaded our Capitol,” Clinton said.
Clinton was peddling her baseless conspiracy theories to none other than House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who was a guest on the episode. For her part, Pelosi called the Capitol rioters unwitting “Putin puppets” and bragged to Clinton that she told Trump, “With you, all roads lead to Putin.”
But wait, I thought that pushing baseless conspiracy theories without evidence is bad for democracy?
Then again, Clinton is no stranger to pushing any theory that lets her blame other people for her bad actions–Benghazi and the Steele dossier she funded come to mind, just for starters.
