“Please join Congressman Mo Brooks with Special Guest Stephen Miller for an exciting announcement,” said a post on Brooks’ Twitter account. The post included the time and location of the upcoming event in Huntsville, Alabama.
With Sen. Richard Shelby (R-AL) choosing “not planning on running in 2022 for what would be his seventh term,” Brooks has decided to jump into the Senate race. He is highly favored to win in conservative Alabama.
Furthermore, with Stephen Miller — a close confidante of former President Donald Trump — making an appearance at the event, it is practically a forgone conclusion that Trump will be supporting Brooks for the seat.
Miller’s presence has likely sent a message to other potential candidates that Brooks is Trump’s pick. Remember: Trump plans to get involved in the upcoming election through his political action committee, Save America.
The former president wants to send more “America First” conservatives to the Senate to take on the establishment. To be sure, Brooks would do just that. If elected, he would join Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-AL) and be a powerful force.
