The Taliban’s supreme leader made a public appearance on Saturday, stunning the world as it had been rumored that he had been dead for months.
Taliban leadership informed media sources that Haibatullah Akhundzada had made an appearance in Kabul, ending any speculation about Akhundzada’s true fate.
The reappearance of Akhundzada represents another massive failure by U.S. intelligence agencies.
U.S. intelligence has been next to worthless about the reality on the ground in Afghanistan. If they failed to see the resurgence of the Taliban coming, how could they be expected to keep track of Taliban leadership?
The Taliban has been in control of Afghanistan since August, and apparently, they have solidified their authority on the country to the point where Akhunzada was comfortable emerging.
One thing is for sure, the world is now a more dangerous place, and the Biden administration has done nothing to stop that.
