A high-ranking official won’t be leaving — even if Joe Biden is sworn-in as president of the United States. The White House is completely stunned.
“The official, who was not authorized to speak publicly, said Mr. Biden’s team was ‘not removing the F.B.I. director unless Trump fired him,'” according to a report from The New York Times, referring to FBI Director Christopher Wray.
While there is usually no reason to put any stock into a report from the Times, Wray staying on as head of the FBI under a hypothetical Biden administration checks out; he has been a constant thorn in Trump’s side.
As noted by Breitbart News, “Wray has reportedly been in President Trump’s crosshairs after the FBI did not formally investigate allegations of corruption against Hunter Biden.” Wray also downplayed the threat posed by Antifa.
Since Biden is gathering a bunch of DC swamp creatures around him — which shouldn’t surprise anyone — Wray will fit right in. The signal being sent is that everything will return to the “status quo,” but also lurch to the left.
This makes sense, given that Biden is beholden to the radical base of his party and they are out to grow the size and scope of the federal government dramatically, undoing Trump’s efforts in the process. That is the true status quo.
