“C-SPAN suspended its political editor Steve Scully indefinitely Thursday after he admitted to lying about his Twitter feed being hacked” in an apparent attempt to retaliate against Trump supporters for questioning his role as debate moderator.
Before the second presidential debate was canceled, Scully was tapped as the moderator — a controversial choice since he once served as an intern for Joe Biden when the former vice president was a U.S. senator.
Somehow, this must have seemed like an appropriate choice by the “impartial” Commission on Presidential Debates, but many people rightly called foul. Then, Scully cast even more skepticism upon himself by tweeting an anti-Trump gadfly.
In a now-deleted tweet, Scully openly asked Trump’s disgraced former communications director, Anthony Scaramucci, for advice. “Should I respond to Trump?” he asked. Conservatives on Twitter quickly called him out.
Scully then claimed his Twitter account was hacked, something that turned out to be a total lie. When American voters cast their ballot this year, they will remember the unholy alliance between the media and the Democratic Party.
