Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) is fighting back. It is not anywhere close to over and the GOP is cheering. This is how you handle the left.
During a CBS News interview with Sharyn Alfonsi, DeSantis pushed back on the narrative that he engaged in “pay to play” with Publix, the grocery store chain, in order to distribute the COVID-19 vaccine.
You see, Publix donated $100,000 to DeSantis’s PAC, so there might be something nefarious going on — right? Wrong. DeSantis himself blew Alfonsi’s narrative to smithereens.
“I met with the county mayor, I met with the administrator, I met with all the folks at Palm Beach County, and I said, ‘Here’s some of the options: we can do more drive-thru sites, we can give more to hospitals, we can do the Publix,'” said DeSantis.
“And they said, ‘We think that would be the easiest thing for our residents,'” DeSantis continued. Alfonsi still tried to push the “pay to play” lie, but the Florida Republican wasn’t having any of it.
“I just disabused of the narrative,” said DeSantis. He also reamed the CBS reporter for not caring about the facts. This is exactly what people still want to see — a leader with the courage and eloquence to take on the left and their allies in mainstream media.
