President Donald Trump lost his younger brother, Robert, on Saturday at age 71 after an illness. Trump visited him in the hospital on Friday after getting word that he was not doing well.
“He was not just my brother, he was my best friend,” Trump wrote in a statement. “He will be greatly missed, but we will meet again.”
Robert Trump was supportive of his brother and supported his run for president and his presidency.
“I support Donald one thousand percent,” he said in a previous interview. “I think he’s doing a great job. I think he’s got a great message.”
“His memory will live on in my heart forever,” Trump said. “Robert, I love you. Rest in peace.”
