According to a statement from his family on Thursday, philanthropist and heavyweight Republican donor Foster Friess has passed away at the age of 81-years-old.
Friess’s impact on the Republican Party and the conservative movement cannot be understated. It was Friess’s support that allowed the Daily Caller to take off and compete with biased mainstream media sources.
Friess was one of the first major figures who backed Donald Trump in the 2016 GOP primaries, and Friess’s grasp of the future was always clear.
Friess’s family issued a statement saying, “We are grateful for the wonderful life Foster lived and thankful to the many people who have shared their prayers during his illness. We know many of you mourn with us, and we will have more details soon on Foster’s funeral.”
Foster Friess and his wife Lynn donated over $500 million to different causes, including helping natural disaster recovery, providing fresh water, and supporting rehab services for addicts.
Friess’s passing is a tragic loss for the entire nation, but his impact will live on through both his family and the people his philanthropic efforts have helped.
