Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins passed away suddenly on Friday night at the age of 50.
The band was on tour in South America and Hawkins had just played a concert in Argentina last Sunday.
The Foo Fighters issued a statement on Hawkins’s tragic passing saying, “The Foo Fighters Family is devastated by the tragic and untimely loss of our beloved Taylor Hawkins. His musical spirit and infectious laughter will live on with all of us forever.”
At the time of Hawkins’s death, the band was in Bogota, Columbia. Multiple emergency vehicles were observed outside the hotel Hawkins was staying at when he died.
So far, no cause of death has been revealed, but the friends and family that Hawkins left behind are no doubt experiencing extreme loss at this time.
Hawkins was a beloved figure in the rock n’ roll community and the outpouring of support has been truly incredible.
