The news just broke about a tragic, unexpected death, and Congress is in shock. Millions of Americans are also stunned. Please pray for his family.
“Representative-elect Luke Letlow (R-LA) died Tuesday from coronavirus at the age of 41, five days before he was due to be sworn in as a member of the 117th Congress,” reported Breitbart News.
Letlow “won the seat with 62% of the vote in a runoff election earlier this month against state Rep. Lance Harris (R-Alexandria),” continued Breitbart. Now, the victory celebration has turned into mourning his death.
Following the news of Letlow’s passing, condolences poured in. Louisiana Gov. John Bel Edwards (D) released a statement honoring Letlow’s life and announcing that flags would be flown at half-staff.
“I have ordered flags to be flown at half-staff on the day of Congressman-elect Letlow’s funeral,” said Edwards. He also noted how “devastated” he was for Letlow’s “loving family.”
Letlow has left behind his wife, Julia, and their two young children, and they need to be wrapped in prayer. Losing a husband and father — especially at such a young age — is absolutely tragic. No one should have to go through this pain.
