Hennepin County Judge Peter Cahill removed Hennepin County Attorney Mike Freeman and three lawyers for their “sloppy” work on the George Floyd case.
Reportedly, Attorney Mike Freeman and his staff sent prosecutors to question the medical examiner which made them witnesses in the case and disqualifying them.
The George Floyd case may get uglier before there is any sort of progress made in the trial.
At this time, Officer Derek Chauvin is charged with second-degree murder, third-degree murder, and manslaughter. Officers Thomas Lane, J. Kueng and Tou Thao are charged with aiding and abetting second-degree murder and manslaughter.
With more information emerging that George Floyd actually died from a fentanyl overdose during his encounter with the four officers, the complexity is only building.
Speculation is swirling that the District Attorney overcharged the officers and they may win their cases.
