Joe Biden tried to claim during the presidential debate on Thursday that no Americans lost their private health insurance due to Obamacare, but like most of the things he said that night, he wasn’t telling the truth.
“I support private insurance; that’s why not one single person with private insurance would lose their insurance under my plan, nor did they under Obamacare. They did not lose their insurance unless they chose they wanted to go to something else,” the former vice president claimed.
At least 1.5 million people lost their insurance because of Obamacare, and Politifact labeled Obama’s declaration that “if you like your health care plan, you can keep it” the lie of the year in 2013.
Obama later apologized for the statement.
If Biden doesn’t think voters remember what happened while he was vice president, he’s more delusional than he even appears to be.
