Fox News reported that Newsom “spoke from a prerecorded message taken on a cellphone as his state battles more than 370 wildfires amid a crippling heatwave and a resurgence in the coronavirus pandemic.” He pushed for action on climate change.
“If you are in denial about climate change, come to California,” said Newsom. It is unfortunate that he used this moment to get political — even attacking President Donald Trump in the process — as he was in the middle of leading the fire response.
