Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) has joined a joint task force with Joe Biden, Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT), and former Secretary of State John Kerry.
Ocasio-Cortez will co-chair the task force, which will focus on climate change.
The freshman congresswoman was a fierce supporter of Sanders and a critic of Biden, but has apparently decided to go along with Sanders’ support of Biden by participating in the task force.
The task forces are intended to provide feedback and leadership to Democrats at the DNC Convention in August, and include topics like criminal justice reform, the economy, education, healthcare, and immigration.
Biden has reached out to Sanders in hopes of gaining the support of the progressive’s very vocal backers, who are skeptical of Biden’s policies and reluctant to unite behind the presumptive nominee.
