Facebook said Saturday that it was banning ads for firearms accessories until January 22 as part of its preparation for Joe Biden’s inauguration.
The announcement was part of an update to policy changes that included banning the phrase “Stop the Steal” and monitor for anything it thinks might be planning for violence.
The platform already bans ads for all firearms and firearm enhancements like silencers. It removed the “Stop the Steal” initial page in November and has continued to remove content related to that phrase.
It is honestly beginning to feel like we live in China when it comes to social media censorship, except that the government isn’t making these platforms do it.
I wonder how they will feel when the tide turns on them and they are forced to censor content they agree with.
