Norway has become the latest country to lift virtually all of its COVID restrictions even though the omicron variant is still spreading in the area.
“This is the day we have been waiting for,” Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Stoere said during a news conference in Oslo on Saturday. “We are removing almost all coronavirus measures.”
Stoere said most of the population is protected by vaccines and that hospitalizations are low there.
Mask rules and a 3-foot distancing requirement have been lifted, and self-isolation requirements have been limited to a recommended four days.
Most world governments are beginning to notice that it’s time to get back to normal life.
