In a series of Facebook posts, a Northern Michigan company that offers boating services said that Governor Gretchen Whitmer’s husband Marc Mallory requested help getting his boat on the water before the Memorial Day weekend more than 150 miles from where the Whitmers live.
The company’s owner, Tad Dowker, said that they couldn’t help Mallory because they had a several-week backlog on their boat services, and that Mallory tried to get special privileges by saying he was the governor’s husband.
The alleged request occurred as Whitmer eased restrictions on Northern Michigan but told people from other parts of the state not to travel there over the holiday. Seems like her husband didn’t heed her advice, or at least tried not to.
Like so many other Democrat politicians, Whitmer and her family did not follow their own rules, which will only fuel the fire of the many Michiganders protesting her strict lockdowns and attempted iron grip on the state.
Whitmer spokeswoman Tiffany Brown called the posts a “rumor being spread online” and referred to “wild disinformation” that has appeared online about the governor.
