BREAKING: Gov. DeSantis Says It’s HER – Makes It Official…

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) announced a new Secretary of State in Florida on Thursday after his previous Secretary of State resigned to seek a congressional seat.

State Rep. Cord Byrd from the Jacksonville area will replace Laurel Lee when Lee steps down Monday after resigning on Thursday.

Byrd was a sponsor of the Parental Rights in Education Bill and has also worked on issues like election security, big tech censorship, and the deplatforming of political candidates.

“Cord Byrd has been an ally of freedom and democracy in the Florida Legislature, and I am confident he will carry that mission forward as secretary of state,” DeSantis said in a statement. “I look forward to his successes ensuring Florida’s elections remain safe, secure and well-administered.”

Byrd said, “As Secretary of State, I will make sure Florida continues to have secure elections and that we protect the freedom of our citizens in the face of big-tech censorship and ever-growing cybersecurity threats.”
