A high-ranking Republican senator just flipped. This impeachment shocker is spreading like wildfire nationwide, and everyone is wondering what will happen next.
“It is inappropriate, in my judgment, for senators on either side of the aisle to prejudge the evidence before they have heard what is presented,” said Sen. Susan Collins (R-ME) about the pending Senate trial.
Once Speaker Nancy Pelosi finally decides to send articles of impeachment to the Senate, the next phase of this process can begin — the Senate will hold a trial to determine President Trump’s guilt.
Unsurprisingly, instead of recognizing the obvious truth that impeachment was a farce to begin with, she is attempting to look ‘reasonable’ instead. This comes off as either ignorant or opportunistic.
“I have heard Democrats like Elizabeth Warren, saying that the President should be impeached, found guilty, and removed from office,” she said, before criticizing Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY).
“I’ve heard the Senate Majority leaders saying that he’s taking his cues from the White House,” she said, demanding “impartial justice.” But there is nothing impartial about this entire witch-hunt.
