Representative Mo Brooks (R-AL) blasted former President Donald Trump for endorsing Alabama Republican Senate challenger Katie Britt, saying that Trump had once again made the wrong choice.
Brooks took to Twitter on Friday to say that “Donald Trump is the only man in American politics who could get conned by Mitch McConnell twice in an Alabama Senate race.”
Trump has had a problem with making the wrong choice when it comes to endorsements. Brooks pointed this out saying, “This is weird: last time Donald Trump talked about Katie Britt, he said she was unqualified for the Senate. Let’s just admit it: Trump endorses the wrong people sometimes. He endorsed Mitt Romney, he endorsed John McCain and now he’s endorsed Katie Britt, who his own son, Don Jr. called ‘Alabama’s Liz Cheney.'”
Arguably the worst part of Trump’s presidency was his inability to choose the right people to work under him.
Names like John Bolton and Anthony Scaramucci are just a few on a long list of individuals that Trump has wrongly trusted. Brooks may be onto something when he questioned Trump’s choice to endorse Britt.
No matter how legitimate Brooks’s point may be, his decision to attack Trump certainly won’t sit well with Trump’s voter base.
