Christianity Today’s editor-in-chief, Mark Galli, will be retiring on January 3, 2020. Galli recently wrote an editorial calling for President Trump to be removed from office.
He reportedly made the retirement announcement in October of 2019, well before publishing his anti-Trump editorial on December 19. The timing has been raised as suspicious by many.
“No wonder Mark Galli wrote his editorial in Christianity Today, condemning President Trump and calling for his removal,” wrote Catholic author Dave Armstrong at Patheos.
“He had already announced two months earlier that he was departing his position as editor,” continued Armstrong, driving his point home about Galli’s decision.
In Galli’s editorial, he claimed that Trump “attempted to use his political power to coerce a foreign leader to harass and discredit one of the president’s political opponents.”
